Safe Cautery Controls

During electrosurgery, surgeons use hand-control pencils or foot pedals to trigger cutting and coagulation currents. Footswitches are placed on operating room floors, where fluid contact is a constant factor. Therefore, these foot pedals must have strict water-ingress protection ratings (IPX8). Dual-pedal systems color-code pedals, yellow for cut and blue for coag, to ensure tactile safety under stress.
